Milagro is the Spanish word for miracle. These small votive objects have a long tradition in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Traditionally, metal charms in different shapes were offered at churches and shrines as symbols of prayers, hopes or gratitude.
The heart is one of the most recognisable Milagro motifs, often connected with matters of love and the heart.
